Description 

Bleached shellac is the most common form of refined shellac. It comes under powder form

 and is easy to handle. It can be dissolved in alcohol or alkaline solution for various applications. 

Bleached shellac is a recognized food additive (glazing agent E904 in EU).

The production process consists of dissolving seedlac in an aqueous alkaline solution

 and filter all impurities, remove wax (if needed), then bleach the solution using sodium hypochlorite before precipitating it to get back into solid form. 

The powder obtained is then washed and dried to obtain the final product.
